Neighbourhood planning is a new way for local communities to decide the future of their areas. We in Bosham, under the qualifying authority of the Parish Council and supported by the Bosham Association, are developing a parish-wide local plan. Successful Neighbourhood Plans will form part of the development plan used by Chichester District Council in determining planning applications.
The Localism Act (2011) gave powers to local parish councils to produce Neighbourhood Plans. The Neighbourhood Planning regulations (2012) set out the stages of carrying out a Neighbourhood Plan.
Details can also be found via the Chichester District Council website:
The Bosham Parish Neighbourhood Plan will need to be in general conformity with the District Local Plan which was adopted by CDC in July 2015; replacing the previous Local Plan adopted in April 1999.
The Bosham Parish Neighbourhood Plan has been formally adopted by the Parish Council and all the statutory documents required (as per Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 No. 637) have been submitted to Chichester District Council and accepted.
The consultation on the submission of the Bosham Neighbourhood Plan will run from Thursday 27 August – Friday 9 October June 2015 please use the following link to CDC website:
